Copper Doped PPy/MWCNT Nanocomposite Materials for Supercapacitor Applications

We report the structural, morphological, and electrochemical properties of polypyrrole (PPy), copper doped PPy (Cu/PPy), multi-walled carbon nanotubes (Cu/PPy/MWCTs) prepared by oxidative polymerization technique. The incorporation Cu in form nanoparticles composites was confirmed from XRD data. granular morphology observed FESEM micrograph. However, size grains decreased with nanoparticle insertion matrix. uniform distribution Cu/PPy Cu/PPy/MWCTs nanocomposites has been evidenced TEM images. highest specific capacitance 311 F/g at a scan rate 10 mV/s is achieved case composite. It found that cyclic stability these enhanced due to integration MWCNTS polymer. Cu/PPy/MWCNTs retained 91% their even after 1000 cycles. maximum energy density 19.89 Wh/kg power 4479.71 W/kg 200 were also measured for nanocomposite. Our study thus indicates nanocomposite could be potential candidate application supercapacitor hybrid type storing devices.
